What Happens at a Guild Meeting?

Frances Irwin is primarily focused on weaving, but monthly programs may include other fiber-related topics. A sampling of our yearly calendar includes the following:

  • Professional programs in the form of a lecture, demonstration, or workshop by a regionally or nationally known textile artist.
  • Occasional “Round-Robins,” where members bring table top looms warped for a particular fiber focus. Participants then share their looms, increasing everyone’s experience and skill level in the selected topic.
  • Show ‘n Tell, a monthly opportunity to see projects in progress, finished items, or share challenges and solutions discovered when weaving.
  • Yearly “challenges” to inspire your creativity, occasional special projects.
  • Member-initiated Study Groups, e.g., Tartan weaving, Pot Holder Weaving, Sewing with Handwovens, etc.
  • The Holiday Luncheon and woven gift exchange, held in December.
